Graduated in Management, Miguel Belo de Carvalho also holds a Post-Graduation in Finance from ISEG and attended Management Programs at Kellog and IESE (São Paulo, Shanghai, Madrid).
Working at the Santander Group since 1994, he was in GBM/CIB until 2010 in the market areas, having been responsible for the Treasury in Portugal until 2006, having had international experience in GBM and treasury business in Brazil and Madrid from 2007 to 2010.
In 2010, he returned to Portugal as Head of Corporate Banking and, in 2013, became responsible for the Bank’s financial area, having led the transition teams of Banif and Banco Popular’s acquisitions between 2015 and 2018.
Since 2019, he is a member of the Executive Committee, had being responsible for the Bank’s Commercial area, integrating the networks of Individuals, Businesses, Companies, and Private Banking until June 2023.
Currently Miguel is responsible of the Wealth management (including Private banking) & Insurance, mortgage & consumer loans and Responsible Banking.
He has actively participated in the transformation of the distribution and customer service models.
Miguel is 57 years old, married and has 4 children (29, 27, 24 and 14 years old). He loves sports and is a regular tennis player.
